What to expect:


Martin Marietta is seeking a Dragline Oiler to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual is responsible for safely and efficiently performing the inspections, services and repairs on all aspects of the dragline. The oiler will be capable of filling in as an operator as needed.


A typical day for a(n) Dragline Oiler may include:


  • Operating and maintaining the lubrication system of the dragline, replacement of power cables as needed, and the operation of the overhead bridge crane system for lifts within the machine

  • Operating an electric power-driven dragline with dragline bucket to excavate/move sand, gravel, mud, or other materials as a backup operator

  • Conducting daily pre-shift inspections and documentation of the dragline operation and working conditions

  • Performing routine maintenance which includes hoist, drag and dump rope maintenance (re-sockets, end for end, and replacement), bucket hardware replacement, diagnosing gearing issues with propel, swing, hoist and drag gear cases and the teardown and repair, operation

  • Operating mobile and plant equipment to facilitate the set-up and operation of the dragline

  • Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules and regulations

  • Maintaining housekeeping in areas of responsibility

  • Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed

  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You may be a good fit if you:


  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Have previous experience operating a dragline or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position

  • Have previous experience as a Dragline Oiler (preferred)

  • Knowledge in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic operations (preferred)
