Volt is immediately hiring for Material Handler in Pasadena, CA
As a Material Handleryou will:
Perform transportation services, including transporting materials in liquid or packaged form to and from campus locations.
Ensure timely processing of all material requests.
Load and unload trucks.
Move furniture and equipment for relocations and deliveries.
Accurately report on work orders for material movement and inventory location to ensure timely, damage-free, and accurate moves.
Receive and sort packages.
Provide courier services for pick-up and delivery of packages as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
Support Shipping & Receiving operations.
Safely operate vehicles, including forklifts, pallet jacks, warehouse equipment, and equipment involved with issuing inventory materials.
Ensure vehicles are in good operating order and report any issues to the supervisor.
Routinely clean the interior and exterior of vehicles.
Follow all laws and procedures for operating a commercial vehicle.
Maintain contact with the supervisor to schedule, confirm, and adjust appointments as needed.
Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
This is a Full-Time Temporary position opportunity.
Shift: 7:30am to 4:00pm; Monday through Friday.
Pay Rate:$19/hr
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
General knowledge of standard safety practices and procedures related to warehouse operations and equipment.
Basic computer knowledge.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to become forklift certified within the first 3 months of employment.
Consent to initial and random drug testing throughout employment.
Consent to initial and random review of CDL report.
Ability to work in a warehouse setting with occasional exposure to industrial operations (temperatures, noise, etc.).
Ability to lift 50 lbs. of shipping supplies, packages, furniture, lab supplies, etc.
Ability to lift, move, and maneuver heavy objects using rolling carts, dollies, etc.
Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, pull, and push throughout the workday.
Experience with AiM software or a similar integrated workplace management system.
Familiarity with handheld computer/scanners.
OSHA forklift certification.
