Job Summary



The Principal Financial Analyst will be responsible for the costing roll up process, costing accuracy and analysis, relevant financial valuation, and other financial analysis / projects. This position is a key member of the business unit finance team and will be viewed as a business partner to the Business Unit management team.



Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive and implement the annual cost roll up process including maintaining accurate periodic cost rolls/ updates ensuring product costs are accurate and accounted for properly.


• Oversee/conduct daily, weekly, and monthly costing activities accurately and promptly to support Operations activities.


• Oversee reporting, planning and forecasting of Indirect Cost of Sales.


• Oversee reporting, planning and financial analysis of Inventory & DSI.


• Diligently monitor data integrity to ensure cost accuracy for appropriate inventory valuation as well business decision.


• Manage the annual standard cost revaluation process. Perform audits to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly.


• Prepare monthly reports, monthly forecasts, budget and annual operating plan and cycle counting and strategic planning.


• Create and provided monthly presentations to management on manufacturing results.


• Analyze key drivers of product costs, including material, labor and overhead analysis as it flows through SAP system.


• Provide product analysis including but not limited to gross margin analysis, labor, and overhead cost analysis, and develop models for special projects as necessary.


• Analyze actual manufacturing costs in preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.


• Oversee annual manufacturing budgets and forecasts for short- and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, and staffing requirements for manufacturing and engineering operating teams


• Model capital investments used in our plants and labs for costs and savings. Track and report on results


• Review manufacturing variances (PPV, POV etc.) and absorption analysis reports.


• Track and analyze labor efficiencies and report results to management.


• Performs journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned areas.


• Assumes other special activities and responsibilities as required.

Education and Experience Requirements



Education


Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field. MBA, CPA, CMA desirable.


Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• 10 years of Accounting and Analytic Experience in a manufacturing environment.


• A minimum of 8 years of experience in managing or supporting product costing activities within a global manufacturing operation.


• Affiliations with successful global manufacturing companies. Experience with Cost Accounting and Standard Costing practices.


• Expert knowledge and proficiency in Excel (Advanced).


• Expert knowledge and proficiency in SAP.


• Expert knowledge and proficiency with PowerPoint and other MS Office applications including Word and Outlook.


• Driven and prepared to take a hands-on and proactive approach to work.


• Position demands critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to have the highest standards of accuracy and precision. Ability to identify options for solving a problem and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses.


• Ability to work collaboratively, partner, and support other functions.

Salary range for this position is: $124,000 to $145,000 annually.


The base pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
