Overview
The Project Manager – Senior is responsible for providing technical and personnel management across multiple disciplines, including engineering, application development, and systems management. This role ensures the successful execution of a specific task order or group of related systems, overseeing project planning, scope management, risk assessment, and timely deliverables within budget constraints. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT project management, federal compliance requirements, and cybersecurity-related initiatives.
*This position is dependent upon contract award. Selected candidate must be onsite in Washington, DC.*
Responsibilities
Develop and manage project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Oversee scheduling and assignment of work to subordinates and subcontractors.
Maintain quality control, risk management, and scope management practices.
Support regulatory compliance and policy alignment with federal requirements.
Ensure effective communication with stakeholders and leadership teams.
Work with Leadership and Federal Staff to validate and determine plans.
Monitor departmental goals and initiatives.
Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
Recommends action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
Exercises independent judgment, as well as a high-level of analytical skill, in solving non-routine technical, administrative, and managerial problems.
Provide a qualified and stable workforce
Coordinate Scheduling and ensure proper coverage for core hours
Support for project reviews
Risk management
Interpret and implement Federally mandated policies, procedures, and other directives to assist in meeting agency compliance requirements
Provide guidance related to the enhancement of automated systems to incorporate new policies, procedures, and directives
Gather and provide evidence for continuous monitoring
Status reporting
Compliance with physical and personnel security guidelines
Qualifications
Must have an active Public Trust clearance.
Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of related experience within a federal IT environment, 4 of which must be in a supervisory role.
Proven track record in managing enterprise IT and cybersecurity projects.
Experience developing, analyzing, and implementing IT security policies, standards, and frameworks.
Ability to analyze complex policy and security data and develop strategic recommendations for leadership.
Strong communication and technical writing skills to develop policy documents, reports, and executive briefings.
Systems Tools Familiarity: Microsoft Project, Jira, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and other project management tools.
Desired:
Familiarity with FISMA, NIST, OMB, and other federal cybersecurity compliance standards.
Experience working with DOC or similar federal agencies.
Certifications in project management (PMP or FAC/PPM) equivalent certification.
