Job Description:
American Woodmark is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Reach Truck Driver to join our dynamic team at our distribution center. The Reach Truck Driver will be responsible for efficiently and safely operating a reach truck to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise in our warehouse. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution processes while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate reach trucks and other warehouse equipment to move materials and products within the distribution center.
* Load and unload products from pallets or containers, stacking them in designated areas.
* Organize and maintain stock in the warehouse, ensuring all items are properly stored and easily accessible.
* Perform regular inventory checks and report discrepancies or damage to management.
* Assist with order picking and prepare products for shipment.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
* Perform routine equipment maintenance checks and report any malfunctions.
* Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient and timely order fulfillment.
* Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Valid forklift or reach truck certification preferred (or willing to obtain certification upon hire).
* Previous experience operating reach trucks or similar material handling equipment in a warehouse or distribution setting is a plus.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity and quality standards.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to lift, move, and handle products of varying weights (up to 50 lbs) as required.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to sit and operate a reach truck for extended periods.
* Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
* Ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold storage areas.
* Ability to work overtime as needed.
