The Director - Supplier Quality plays a critical role in Rehlko's success by leading strategic supplier development initiatives across its global supply base, in support of the Engines, Power Systems, and Home Energy businesses. The position will lead the activities related to new product development, cost reduction, VA/VE, and other supply chain optimizations. This position plays a key role in the success of new product development projects, problem solving, and continuous improvement for Rehlko.
Specific Responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction and tactical mentoring for the global supplier development teams, i.e. Americas, EMEA, India, and China/APAC.
Develop and sustain the Global SD Team's technical and inter-personal skills, as well as disseminating best practices globally, playing a crucial role in fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Identify skill gaps and organize targeted training programs to address those needs. Facilitate regular knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to ensure that team members can learn from each other's experiences and expertise.
Establish and maintain communication channels across global locations to share successful strategies and best practices, ensuring consistency and continuous improvement across the organization.
Promote a culture of learning and collaboration to enhance overall team performance and drive organizational success.
Contribute own knowledge on technical quality issues, materials, purchasing, operations, suppliers and other functional areas for cost reductions, NPD, and other strategic supply chain optimizations initiatives.
Maintain and improve supplier risk assessment process:
Develop and implement actions to address poor performing suppliers and ensure appropriate actions are taken for cost recovery of supplier-responsible issues.
Identify and react to current and future gaps in capability, capacity, and technical ability in the supply base.
Integrate risk assessment and mitigation to strategic commodity plans.
Develop Global SD Team's expert-level commodity knowledge, and leverage it towards the successful execution of supplier manufacturing processes, ensuring that Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly tools are utilized.
Problem solving of complex issues across business and geographical locations.
Independently identify opportunities and give strategic direction to the Global SD Team based on Rehlko's Policy Deployment goals.
Develop, maintain, and improve standardized Supplier Development processes as they relate to Rehlko's business requirements.
Effectively manage supplier relationships to sustain good-faith collaboration.
Requirements:
Functional knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes, including but not limited to plastics molding, iron sand castings, aluminum HPDC, aluminum low pressure casing, stampings, wire harness, fuel system assembly, and hardware.
Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field.
Functional knowledge of materials, including but not limited to cast iron, aluminum casting alloys, steels, plastic, heat treatments, and powder metal.
Fuel injection and mechanical governing, and proficient knowledge of compression-ignited engines including mechanical and high-pressure common rail injection.
Proficient in advanced problem-solving techniques.
Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
Strong business aptitude, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Leadership, presentations, interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
Expert level knowledge in metrology, inspection, and measurement techniques; especially GD&T.
The salary range for this position is $158,650 - $206,750. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
