Description

Clemson University’s School of Computing is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to develop visual analytics techniques for outbreak detection and public health response as part of a CDC-funded project. The role involves creating interactive visualizations, integrating models into health systems, and leading research publications. Candidates should have a PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with expertise in data visualization, spatial data analysis, and web programming. Experience with D3.js, R, Python, and GIS applications is preferred. This is a renewable 12-month position, initially funded for two years, with a competitive salary and benefits. Start date is negotiable.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• A PhD computer science, data science, or related fields, with demonstrated knowledge in data visualization, statistics, and spatial data analysis.
• Experience in visual analytics and spatial data visualization
• Experience in developing interactive visualizations in D3.js or similar libraries
• Experience with web programming
• Experience working in a research team
• Experience leading publications
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and push forward a program of research Desirable Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with R and Python programming languages.
• Experience with GIS applications such as Esri ArcGIS Pro.
