Summary:
Our Internship positions allow high school/college/trade school students to learn our industry, right where the action takes place. This will be a hands-on experience for students, to learn the industry from the ground up. You'll work alongside some of the best in the Ready Mix business. This a great opportunity for students with minimal or no mining industry experience to gain first-hand knowledge of a Ready Mix operation.
Position primarily located in Dallas, TX and support a combination of operations in the North Texas areas
What to Expect:
Interns will enter an approximately 10-12 week rotational internship program, allowing the individual to learn the Aggregates/Ready Mix business and develop professional skills including leadership, time management, and relationship building. The goal of the Internship program is to provide individuals with hands-on experience in Logistics & Transportation field, and allowing them to explore safety, production, engineering, geology, quality control, sales, administration and so much more.
Essential Functions:
Work with customer service and dispatch team to ensure product is being delivered to customers in a timely manner
Learn and contribute any new ideas/improvements
Shadow a customer service rep as they take orders and assist customers.
Shadow a dispatcher as they dispatch fleet in the area to provide timely delivery
Understand the importance of product uses, and their impact on the customer.
Adheres to and enforces ethical, safety and environmental measures.
Becomes familiar with the traits of high-performing managers in Martin Marietta.
Ensures all activities are performed in accordance with the Company's Mission, Vision, and Values, and in compliance with the Company's policies, procedures, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct
Becomes familiar with the operations of Ready Mix and understanding the complete production process
Qualifications and skills:
Candidates must be currently pursuing a degree or trade certification in:
Logistics/Supply Chain
Construction Management
Concrete Industry Management (CIM)
Candidate must also have:
a valid driver's license.
Prior full-time experience is preferred, not required
the ability to learn technical processes, high-level verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Be over 18-years old
Working Conditions
Majority of time will be in an office setting and may require periods of work at a plant, in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 dbs.

Salary Posting: We are excited to share the base range for this position is $XX.XX-$XX.XX, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity. In addition to our base compensation, we also offer a competitive benefits package for full time employees (more information on benefits listed below).
