Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Global Procurement Director for Product Facing, this role will lead a team of product procurement engineers with accountability for the execution, communication, and governance of the RIOP Product Group extended value chain strategies in alignment with RISM category strategies. Collaborate with procurement category teams, Product EVC teams, and facility manufacturing teams to drive alignment between all groups on strategies to improve product quality as delivered by suppliers, improve supplier delivery performance, and lower material costs to bring benefits to Caterpillar and our customers.
What You Will Do:
Manages the relationship between procurement category teams and the Resource Industries Product Group extended value chain teams, including representing supply management, being the trusted advisor on the supply markets, and collaboration leader of product and procurement from the supply side.
Leading a team responsible for developing product/component collaboration strategies, facilitating governance for product/procurement sourcing strategies, providing input for make/buy, executing procurement NPI activities, and aligning business planning.
Leveraging skillset and knowledge within procurement to help the product groups develop optimal and executable value chains.
Leading and deploying key projects (including NPI/NSI execution) to successfully meet product group's targets.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in a business, engineering or supply chain concentration
What Skills You Will Have:
Previous NPI, product, component, and procurement experience preferred
Previous 6 Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt or Sponsor experience preferred
Global sourcing knowledge and experience required. Experience in additional disciplines preferred.
Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management preferred, e.g.; Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and Certified in Integration Resource Management (CIRM), or comparable International certification.
Affiliation with Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), or comparable professional purchasing organization, preferred.

Procurement Function: • Advises on how to use advanced technologies and tools for procurement functions. • Provides appropriate solutions to complex procurement problems. • Coaches others on the procedures and main considerations of procurement. • Works with various complex procurement programs and activities in the organization. • Improves processes to maximize procurement's efficiency and effectiveness. • Builds key relationships and dependencies with other business functions and providers.

Summary Pay Range: $169,320.00 - $253,920.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
