The Pharmacy Clerk assists the Pharmacy Manager and/or Staff Pharmacists with record-keeping responsibilities, handling incoming product shipments and general housekeeping duties in the pharmacy. Primary duties would include packing medications, sorting completed medications into totes, and bringing totes to delivery drivers. Furthermore, the Pharmacy Clerk must maintain and follow all board of Pharmacy regulations and department policies and procedures. Knowledge of pharmacy operations is preferred for this position. Must be organized, be able to work on several tasks at one time, enjoy repetitive tasks and work with minimum supervision.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Answering phones and directing customer calls to the appropriate personnel
Handling problems / concerns in a calm manner and referring them to the pharmacist accordingly
Packing completed medications for shipment to stores
Scanning completed packages into totes
Delivering/receiving totes from delivery drivers
Packaging and labeling products
Reviews invoices for products received
Recordkeeping related to inventories, receipts, purchases, and deliveries
Performing other clerical tasks as needed
Unpacking and organizing incoming merchandise, including sorting items that require special handling
Stocking shelves in the pharmacy
Checking for outdated medications and processing quarterly expired drug returns
Process outgoing/incoming store to store drug transfers
Maintaining and cleaning equipment, work areas, and shelves
Removing trash
Notifying the pharmacist of any problems or malfunctions of equipment
Promoting teamwork and working as a team
Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Must be at least 16 years of age

Physical Environment:
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
