Position Summary:
This position is responsible primarily project management of different projects with the procurement organization. This position will act as Sr. Buyer Project Manager, will also purchase other goods and service for the company in an efficient and economical manner following established policies and procedures
Key Accountabilities:
Manage Projects from order to close out: Project scope and goal definition, work break structure, scheduling, risk management and commercial management.
Lead a cross functional project team. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
Prepare and deliver project progress reports to executive management.
Develop, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to accomplish material cost, availability and inventory goals
Negotiate pricing, terms and annual contracts with suppliers
Analyze supplier cost / pricing information and benchmark the competition
Troubleshoot/analyze continuous/reoccurring quality problems and work with supplier to resolve them, in a commitment for continuous improvement
Organize and facilitate product teams for problem-solving, issue resolution
Maintain supplier quality and delivery through assessment, evaluation and ongoing monitoring
Review and analyze MRP to procure purchased components to assure timely delivery of production line requirements
Support engineering, sales and production by providing supplier delivery and open order data in order to assist in the most cost-effective utilization of materials
Maintain Part data and PO data with integrity
Assertively resolve all pricing, invoicing and contract related issues with suppliers
Work/Communicate with order management, sales, engineering, production, accounting, and quality department on any part related issues/questions
Maintain inventory levels that allow efficient production while attaining inventory and cost savings goals
Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct
Perform special projects as required
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Materials Management, or Business Finance, and 5 years of procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management experience; or 9 years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent working knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
Excellent financial/cost analysis and problem-solving skills when issues are very complex
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills, and the ability to understand the needs of the internal customer
Excellent ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents
Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direction
Ability to travel - domestic and international on a limited basis and learn commodity processes at supplier locations
Knowledge of production planning, supply chain and/or materials management processes
Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
Specific knowledge of Off-Highway Diesel Engine commodities, materials and products
SAP experience
Engineering or technical degree
German language skills
