Summary of Position
Allegheny College, a selective national liberal arts institution, invites applications for a one-semester Visiting Assistant Professor position in Art-Photography/Digital Media, beginning in August 2025. Applicants should hold an MFA and demonstrate a strong commitment to liberal arts education.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a technical and critical understanding of contemporary issues in photography and digital media, as reflected in their practice and teaching. They should be well-versed in the theory, history, and technical aspects of the contemporary photography/digital media curriculum and may incorporate emerging production technologies into their work. Areas of expertise might include darkroom photography, the Adobe Creative Suite, and emerging technologies.
Teaching responsibilities include three courses: two introductory digital media courses and one introductory photography course. Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in teaching, a record of scholarship and professional development, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Experience and Qualifications
An MFA is required by the time of appointment, and applicants should have demonstrated success with ideally one-to-two years of experience teaching at the college level.
