WHAT YOU'LL DO


Ascend Learning is hiring an experienced Senior Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing sales team focused on sales to the health systems sector. This role requires a self-motivated leader skilled in client engagement, team coaching, and cross-functional collaboration to drive revenue growth and ensure client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of success, manage operational excellence, and effectively communicate the value of Ascend products to expand our health systems market presence.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME




  • Client Engagement & Value Communication: The Senior Sales Manager will be a dynamic client-facing leader, adept at offering professional solutions and fostering a strong collaborative approach to business. This role will be responsible for effectively communicating the value of Ascend products to both current accounts and prospects, ensuring client satisfaction through diligent follow-up, and providing spot subject matter expertise, coaching, or negotiation support on an ad-hoc basis.


  • Sales Team Leadership & Development: This role involves coaching and managing a sales team to meet and exceed revenue expectations. The Senior Sales Manager will evaluate team needs, set clear objectives, and develop tailored training plans. This role will also write and conduct performance reviews, create action plans, and implement best sales practices to cultivate a high-performing sales organization within their assigned district, team, or territories.


  • Strategic Collaboration & Operational Excellence: The Senior Sales Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders to support client needs, participating in planning sessions, leading sales meetings, and contributing to monthly forecasting. This role will manage territory quotas, P&L allocation, and provide first-line authorization for price-contract variations. The Senior Sales Manager will ensure that territories maintain appropriate service levels and coordinate resources as necessary to achieve business unit and Ascend's strategic goals.


  • Culture & Influence: A key responsibility of the Senior Sales Manager will be to develop and manage a culture of success, earning influence and respect across the organization. The Senior Sales Manager will clearly communicate the business unit's intent and foster a collaborative environment, driving team success and aligning with Ascend's overarching objectives.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED



  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred

  • 8+ years of sales experience including some experience selling into health systems

    • 3+ years of sales management experience preferred



  • Key Skills and Abilities: Leadership, Communication, Problem-Solving, Relationship Management, Negotiation Skills, Pipeline Management
