Position Overview

The Revenue Share Accounting Manager will co-manage the Global Revenue Share Accounting & Reporting team, ensuring the financial integrity and accurate recording of traffic acquisition costs (TAC), revenue share, and other publisher-related liabilities across Yahoo products worldwide. This role plays a critical leadership role in managing the accounting and reporting processes for revenue share and partner agreements, driving innovation in processes, and overseeing the team's performance to support the company's revenue growth initiatives. The Manager will also oversee strategic financial data analysis, GL accounting, and contract management, ensuring compliance and accuracy at all levels. This is an individual contributor on the team.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership experience, exceptional skills in financial analysis, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of complex numeric calculations. Experience in managing teams, contracts, and the ability to drive initiatives while maintaining a high level of detail is essential.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage a subset of the Global Revenue Share Accounting team, ensuring 100% controllership integrity across the organization.

  • Collaborate with Business Development, Partner Management, Legal, Engineering and various other teams and lead the support for new contracts with third-party partners.

  • Oversee the reading, interpretation, and extraction of contract economic terms to ensure proper accounting treatment and payment calculations.

  • Manage the calculation of revenue share syndication costs and perform month-over-month comparisons, ensuring accurate financial terms are implemented in financial systems.

  • Own and review global aging files and perform calculations for variance flux analysis.

  • Direct the month-end close process and ensure procedures are followed efficiently.

  • Develop and manage manual calculation spreadsheets for deals not supported by the system.

  • Ensure accurate GL account reconciliations and oversee the preparation of revenue share journal entries.

  • Lead the preparation of month-end and quarter-end reporting for management teams.

  • Support Finance executives by managing ad hoc tasks and strategic projects.

  • Oversee external and internal audit processes, ensuring compliance with SOX and other financial regulations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and quarter-end reporting for management teams.

  • Ensure audit requests are managed efficiently.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, with some experience in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and demonstrated leadership in financial management.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookup, and similar functions.

  • Proven ability to multitask and manage high-volume work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and innovation.

  • CPA certification preferred.

  • Prior experience in public accounting preferred.

  • Experience with Oracle Financials is a plus.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
