Primary Purpose of the Job
The Divisional Vice President, Experienced Advisor Recruiting - East will lead, mentor and manage a team of Experienced Advisor and Business Development recruiters responsible for driving field force growth of experienced financial advisors to the Ameriprise's various channels including the Independent Channel- Ameriprise Franchise Group, the Employee Channel-Ameriprise Advisor Group, and the Ameriprise Financial Institutions Group. This candidate taking this role will identify and lead initiatives to improve the Experienced Advisor and Business Development team's effectiveness with a keen focus on advisor candidate experience, advisor candidate quality and advisor retention. Ideal candidates will have Advisor Business Development and Transition experience at a large Wire House or Independent Broker Dealer. This role covers markets in the Eastern half of the United States, to include major markets such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Charlotte, Atlanta and the State of Florida.

Responsibilities


  • Lead the Experienced Advisor Recruiting strategy through leadership of the Eastern Division recruitment team. Drive team accountability for meeting experienced advisor and associate financial advisor recruitment goals based on the advisor growth metrics to include high value client acquisition, financial plans, and net flows.


  • Develop and execute recruitment and business development tactics that attract highly capable advisors to join Ameriprise Financial. Direct accountability for advisor candidate quality.


  • Travel within team's territories to support business development activities that produce a consistent, high-volume flow of qualified candidates. Build centers of influence to promote advisor referral opportunities with field leaders, sourcing and engagement team, eternal search firms and existing advisors and other field staff to develop local recruiting sources. Manage through an extensive recruiting cycle sometimes spanning multiple years.


  • Build and maintain strong partnerships between corporate partners, field leaders and advisors to achieve recruiting goals aligned with business strategies. Manage internal stakeholders and external stakeholders regarding advisor recruiting status and results.


  • Demonstrate and maintain a strong fundamental knowledge of Ameriprise Financial' products and capabilities as a leading broker dealer. Maintain current industry competitive intelligence, benchmarking, and analysis.


  • Provide effective team leadership through coaching, feedback, employee development and performance management to ensure optimal contribution to organizational success.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


  • 10+ years of relevant experience.


  • Knowledge of recruitment strategies in a wealth management industry.


  • Demonstrated ability to lead and establish a strong and effective experienced advisor recruiting organization.


  • Proven ability to recruit, hire, train, inspire, and retain top talent in the advisor recruitment and business development field.


  • Proven ability to manage vendors in the administration of advisor recruiting process.


  • Knowledge of industry product and platform competitive intelligence to strategically recruit.


  • FINRA series 7.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Proven oral and written communication proficiencies.


  • Proven ability to influence senior business, corporate and field internal business units, external vendors, and other relationships.


  • Previous experience with building strategies to drive diversity hiring efforts.


  • FINRA series 24.


The estimated base salary for this role is $100,000 year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
