POSITION SUMMARY

Matthews International is now hiring an Embroidery / Engraving Operator for our Billerica, MA Service Center.

Matthews International is a world wide leader in casket manufacturing, providing the highest quality wood, metal and cremation caskets, as well as urns, memorial jewelry and other products to our funeral home customers. This position will be responsible for Operating the Embroidery Machines and Engraving Equipment for our custom ordered Memorial products within the funeral industry.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am - 6:30pm.
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours a week, Shift is 6am - 2:30pm, home every early afternoon.
Starting Pay: $22 hourly starting pay rate with a $2,000 bonus (1,000 after 90 days, 1,000 after 180 days).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform work in accordance to approved procedures and work instructions. Work instructions are located on site for operators review and training.
• Operates automatic embroidery machines and engraving equipment, we will train.
• Reports quality and production concerns and issues to Supervisor.
• Conducts operator level preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment and machines according to the Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
• Observes embroidering operation to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and notifies supervisor of malfunction.
• Keeps work environment neat and clean.
• Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications, SAP Experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
