Based in Windsor, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 115 personnel. The Company's key products and services include design, development, manufacture and support of highly engineered mechanical actuation and components for fixed wing and rotary commercial and military aircraft and military systems.

Responsibilities

  • Possess to a high degree, personal time management, cell and task organization with a disciplined adherence to production schedules.
  • Setting up and operating a CNC and manually controlled machines such as lathes, milling machines, precision grinders, gun drills, etc to make aerospace parts to sketch.
  • Using a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments that monitor and verify drawing/work order requirements are being met.
  • Making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling.
  • Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with manufacturing planning, quality plans, and engineering drawings
  • Ensuring part quality by adjusting machine controls as necessary
  • Meeting production deadlines by following manufacturing schedule and procedures
  • Working with support resources and cell leaders to resolve production problems when they arise.
  • Continuously striving to find ways to make manufacturing process more efficient and effective
  • Observing and listening to machine operation to detect malfunctions, such as worn or damaged cutting tools, following best machining practices.
  • Cleaning machine, tooling, parts and performing machine TPM requirements.
  • Contributing to the overall effectiveness of the machine shop by leading participation in FOD, 5S, TPM, PM, and Process Improvement programs.

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience with multi-axis CNC machine tools
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of and experience with:
    • Precision measuring tools, gauges, and other inspection devices
    • Part drawings/blueprints, dimensioning, and tolerancing
    • GD&T
    • Shop math
    • CNC Machine tool controls and G-code
    • DNC Control systems
  • Machine preventative and corrective maintenance
    • Including machine troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction concepts
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent. Technical or vocational training desired.
  • 5-10 years operating multiple manufacturing machines, including CNC lathe, mill drill, grinding machine, CNC mill machine and deburring. Experience with tool room machining desired.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with substantial acquaintance with and understanding of technical aspects of the job.
  • Work requires the ability to understand and follow instructions, the ability to concentrate and the ability to work as part of a team and get along with others.
