Position Summary
The Intern – Human Resources will provide assistance to the Human Resources Department with various recurring tasks as well as special projects.
Primary Accountabilities
The intern will receive a true generalist view of HR by gaining experience in the following areas:
HRIS: Supporting the Workday implementation scheduled to go live during Summer 2025, including system testing, documentation, and user training support.
Benefits: Assisting with the rollout of a new financial wellness benefit, including communications and employee inquiries.
EmployeeRelations: Observing and assisting with coaching and consulting between HR and managers, including policy interpretation and issue resolution.
GeneralistSupport: Contributing to team initiatives across recruitment, onboarding, and HR operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
The internship will run for Summer of 2025 beginning mid-May and ending early-August.
Able to work a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Must reside local to Effingham, IL and report to the Effingham Corporate office.
Enrolled in a degree program with courses of study including Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field at a college or university with at least 2 years completed.
Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a professional team environment.
Plans to work in a Human Resources position after graduation.
Thrives working with people face to face and via video calls.
Works well in team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrates ability to learn and use new software and programs.
