Description: Role Overview: The PLC Technician is tasked with overseeing, managing, and completing projects related to programmable logic controls (PLC) and human-machine interfaces (HMI). This role requires a professional with in-depth technical knowledge, project management skills, and a commitment to quality and customer service. The technician should be dedicated to continuous improvement and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair faulty equipment using test equipment or software, applying knowledge of electronic systems.
Inspect industrial equipment components for proper assembly and installation, referencing blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
Install repaired equipment in various settings.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment and HMI control devices.
Utilize and maintain electrical software programs.
Collaborate with the corporate IT department on data transfer and reporting needs.
Provide technical expertise in automation and systems to team members.
Train peers, team members, and maintenance personnel, providing job aids, SOPs, and written instructions.
Install and maintain inverter control packages.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain communication networks (fiber and copper).
Respond to emergency call-ins outside of regular work hours.
Deliver professional service and continuously improve existing systems and new projects.
Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Adhere to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.
Report safety, food safety, and quality issues to authorized personnel.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
Two years of experience in developing, installing, and troubleshooting PLC, HMI, and motor control systems.
Skills and Abilities:
Specialized training in PLC and machine control.
Proficiency in ladder logic, function block diagrams, statement lists, file structure, and program organization.
Ability to document instructions, rungs, and sections.
Knowledge of functional requirements specifications.
HMI expertise, including object types, screen layouts, animations, alarms, and scripting.
Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and IEC codes.
Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
Ability to read and understand electrical control and mechanical part drawings.
Flexibility to work varying hours to meet project deadlines.
