DEPUTY PROGRAM MANAGER, TAP, FORT KNOX, KY

Step into a pivotal leadership role as the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) and contribute to the seamless execution of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP). In this vital position, you’ll collaborate with the Program Manager and key government stakeholders to ensure mission objectives are achieved. Your expertise and guidance will drive operational excellence and make a lasting impact on transitioning service members.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational Support
    • Serve as a key point of contact with government representatives to ensure contract success.
    • Assist the Program Manager (PM) in managing program and project teams for optimal effectiveness.
    • Provide operational oversight of the Program Management Office (PMO) to meet contract requirements..
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Conduct briefings with government personnel and TAP stakeholders.
    • Guide contract staff in offering specialized courses tailored to installation needs.
    • Communicate regularly with CIMs, DHRs, TSMs, TSSs, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.

Strategic Management:

  • Support the PM in analyzing transition policies and their impact on TAP staff and client services.
  • Assist with monitoring technical issues, preparing specialized reports, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance on TAPXXI, new surveys, pilots, and surge planning.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a management role, with knowledge of TAP and government transition policies.
  • Active-Duty experience as an E9 or 04

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Certification in Project Management or related certification is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

Leadership Skills:

  • Exceptional ability to inspire and manage teams effectively.

Organizational Skills:

  • Mastery in time management, prioritization, and process improvement.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with TAP policies and change management principles.

Communication:

  • Skilled in delivering briefings and fostering productive stakeholder relationships.

WORK CONDITIONS:

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with regular communication with TAP stakeholders and occasional travel to project sites.

Schedule:

  • Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours based on project needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily sedentary with occasional light lifting and movement during meetings and site visits.
