What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors


As a Construction Technician/Inspector, you will contribute to the successful execution of projects by ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency throughout the construction process. This role will directly support the delivery of safe and reliable infrastructure that advances the communities we serve. By collaborating with project managers, you will help plan and coordinate construction activities, monitor progress, and address challenges with proactive solutions. Your onsite inspections will uphold the highest standards of compliance with contract requirements and permits, ensuring every detail is documented and every milestone is achieved with precision. Through your expertise, attention to detail, and dedication to excellence, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our construction initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily onsite field inspections of construction work to ensure compliance with project specifications, documenting findings in detailed daily work reports.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications, providing clarity and guidance to contractors as needed.
  • Assess field conditions and identify when changes to the construction contract are necessary, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Accurately track and record daily quantities for contractor payments, materials management, and as-built documentation.
  • Collaborate with contractors daily to address project needs, resolve issues, and maintain smooth operations.
  • Perform field materials testing, including concrete, aggregate, and density tests, to ensure quality control and compliance with standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of as-built information for seamless integration into project record drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with the project team to provide updates, relay critical information, and support project success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment substance abuse testing and a background check.
  • A current, valid, no restrictions driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Construction Engineering or a related field.
  • 1 - 5 years of experience in local agency programs or construction inspection.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and processes, including RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Experience conducting materials testing in the field, including concrete, aggregate, and density tests.
