SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command's Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii's (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.


We are seeking a dedicated Lead Supply Technician to join our team in support of our Munitions Division at the Pohakuloa Training Area, HI to oversee and lead munitions supply operations, ensuring that ammunition and explosives (A&E) are properly handled, stored, issued, and maintained in compliance with all applicable regulations. This position involves managing inventory, coordinating personnel, scheduling tasks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines in a dynamic, often high-pressure environment. The individual in this role will also interact with military units, provide quality customer service, and support the logistical aspects of military exercises and operations.


Primary duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Munitions Division.
  • Supervise and provide direction to subordinates, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate employee tasks to meet varying workloads, ensuring high levels of productivity and quality.
  • Monitor adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance is coordinated and all operational processes are performed efficiently.
  • Oversee warehousing duties, including stock control, receipt and issue, turn-in, shipping/packing, and inventory management for ammunition and non-ordnance materials.
  • Maintain a well-organized Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in the handling and storage of A&E.
  • Operate material handling equipment (MHE) and non-tactical vehicles for the safe transportation of munitions and other supplies.
  • Act as the Site Lead, communicating contractual directives and coordinating tasks related to military exercises and operations.
  • Maintain a positive and professional interface with military units conducting training and operational exercises, ensuring their logistical needs are met.
  • Support contract requirements in various areas, including environmental compliance, safety, and security.
  • Develop weekly and monthly work schedules, organizing operations to optimize efficiency.
  • Determine tasking requirements and ensure timely completion of munitions-related functions, including quality control checks and data posting.
  • Adapt to workload fluctuations and surge requirements across the Munitions Division as needed.
  • Utilize various information systems (MHP, MTMS, TAMIS, SAAS, CORPS, FACTS, VFS) to manage ammunition inventory, track transactions, and ensure proper data posting.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control procedures, DOD/Army/Navy/Air Force regulations, and safety standards in handling A&E.
  • Analyze data, identify potential issues, and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations during all supply operations.
  • Oversee the safe handling, storage, and transport of hazardous materials, ensuring personnel use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support physical security protocols and ensure the safety of A&E assets.

Work Conditions:

  • Overtime may be required as needed to meet operational demands.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (50+ lbs.), perform tasks such as stooping, bending, reaching, squatting, climbing, and carrying.
  • Willingness to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to extreme weather conditions such as heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather.
  • Ability to work in environments involving hazardous materials and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) years of applicable experience in Army A&E (Ammunition and Explosives) or similar logistics roles.
  • Understanding of DOD/Army/Navy/Air Force logistics, safety, and security regulations.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform various physical tasks (stooping, bending, climbing, etc.) and handle hazardous materials with proper PPE.
  • Basic proficiency (Level 1) in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). With knowledge of other software applications beyond basic Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Familiarity with supply systems, logistics operations, and warehouse management.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and non-tactical vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to acquire AMMO-31, AMMO-45, AMMO-63, AMMO-64, AMMO-67, AMMO-68, AMMO-75, AMMO-76, AMMO-108, and AMMO-112 certifications.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with using hand tools, automated identification technology (AIT), powered equipment, and fax/copier machines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage inventory, and coordinate supply operations efficiently.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect relevant data, and recommend solutions based on established guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and security protocols, particularly related to ammunition handling and storage, and the ability to enforce them in a hazardous work environment.
  • Effective communication skills to interface with military personnel and team members to support operational needs.
  • Ability to handle changing workloads, surge operations, and varying physical work environments.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided and candidates must reside within commuting distance or indicate a willingness to relocate at their own expense.
  • Current Hawaii Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain and maintain a federal Secret clearance.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
