The MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for a 1.0 FTE,12-month faculty with expertise in quantitative methods for human subject studies with competence in both biomedical and psychosocial sciences research. They will consult with faculty members from across the Institute on research projects. The methodologist will support students in the School of Nursing and School of Rehabilitation Sciences.


The MGH Institute of Health Professions is a fully accredited graduate school located in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard overlooking downtown Boston. The Institute is the only degree-granting member of Mass General Brigham (the largest health care provider in New England).  RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Contribute to the Institute’s teaching, research, and service missions.

  • Engage in scholarly work in collaboration with principal investigators at the Institute.

  • Teach (half-time) introductory through advanced statistics courses, and to consult with faculty members on research projects.

    Qualifications


    REQUIRED


  • Earned master’s degree required, in biostatistics, psychology, education, epidemiology, or a related field with a focus on methodology and statistics.

  • Extensive knowledge of research design and analysis for health sciences, clinical, psychosocial, and educational research (e.g., experimental, and non-experimental design, advanced modeling, item response theory, longitudinal data analysis, Bayesian methods).

  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: measurement/psychometrics, big data, machine learning, health outcomes analysis, or health services research.

  • Proficiency in statistical software.

  • Experience in teaching analytical methods.

  • Demonstrated motivation to collaborate effectively as part of a scientific team.

  • Strong commitment to supporting student success.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.


  • PREFERRED


  • A PhD in biostatistics, psychology, education, epidemiology, or a related field with a focus on methodology and statistics is preferred.
