Job Summary


Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Senior-level System Administrator (Corona Classified RDT&E Network {CCRN}) position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in NSWC Corona Division, Norco, CA 92860.

As a Senior-level System Administrator for the Corona Classified RDT&E Network (CCRN), you will play a pivotal role in the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our classified research, development, test, and evaluation network. In this key position, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of system architectures, ensuring the secure and efficient operation of CCRN. Your role will involve managing user accounts, monitoring network performance, implementing security measures, and troubleshooting issues to maintain a high level of system availability. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in system upgrades, and contribute to the development and enforcement of network policies and procedures. This senior-level position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead and contribute to the success of a critical and classified network infrastructure. You will deliver comprehensive on-site customer support services encompassing field operations, maintenance, equipment repair/replacement, patching, software/equipment installation, client assistance, and troubleshooting. This multifaceted role involves providing customer support through various channels, including field visits, email, virtual platforms, and telephonic communication. You must be able to adeptly identify and address technical issues, generate detailed service reports, respond to client inquiries, and execute upgrade tasks such as installing hardware, software, and network systems, as well as upgrading computer applications. Taking charge of moves, addons, and modifications to hardware and software product baselines is a key responsibility. Organizing and managing daily workflow with a tiered approach, the Contractor will efficiently prioritize and address service incidents/tickets within the Government ticketing system to meet clients' needs effectively.

Compensation Minimum: $90,000

Compensation Maximum: $100,000

Job Requirements:



Skills / Experience Required

  • Secret Clearance
  • 5-8 years of broad expertise in system administration
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Corona Classified RDT&E Network (CCRN), ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability
  • Oversee user account management, access controls, and permissions to maintain a secure and compliant network infrastructure
  • Monitor network performance and conduct regular assessments to identify and address potential issues, ensuring continuous and efficient operation of CCRN
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, adhering to classified network protocols and standards
  • Manage the resolution of complex technical issues, providing expert troubleshooting support to maintain the integrity of the CCRN
  • Develop and enforce network policies and procedures to ensure compliance with security regulations and industry best practices
  • Lead initiatives for the integration of new technologies and capabilities into the CCRN, staying abreast of emerging trends and advancements in classified network systems
  • Contribute to the development of disaster recovery and contingency plans for CCRN, ensuring data integrity and system resilience
  • Participate in security audits, vulnerability assessments, and incident response activities to maintain a high level of cybersecurity for the classified network
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior system administrators, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer within the team
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure that the CCRN meets all relevant security and regulatory requirements
  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing insights into system performance and security
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to procure and implement necessary hardware, software, and services for the CCRN
  • Provide on-call support as needed, responding promptly to critical incidents and ensuring the continuity of CCRN operations
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to ensure a comprehensive knowledge base for the team
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and advancements in classified network systems, incorporating relevant improvements into the CCRN infrastructure

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
  • Work experience may be accepted in leu of a degree
  • IAT Level II2 certification/DoD 8570 certifications:
  • CAP
    CASP+ CE
    CISM
    CISSP (or Associate)
    GSLC
    CCISO
    HCISPP

Security Clearance


Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.


Physical Requirements


Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
