Mission Critical - Data Center Services Test Technician
Promotes reliability and performance of electrical distribution system through inspecting/testing/maintaining electrical equipment & devices, analyzing/determining presence of any adverse conditions, documenting / reporting test results and taking appropriate corrective actions.
Duties
Work safely by following documented company and client safe work practices, i.e. Lock out Tag out.
Test and maintain wiring, controls, and power distribution systems using standard methods of procedure.
Inspect and test electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and other power distribution apparatus using standard methods of procedure.
Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices.
Read electrical one-lines, technical diagrams, scope of work documents.
Document inspection results and corrective actions using specified reporting standards for quality assurance.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools, power tools, Arial lifts and platforms.
Minimum Qualifications: to qualify for consideration, you must meet each of the following minimum qualifications and requirements (or have similar trade experience).
Prefer an associate degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an EE Degree from an ABET accredited college (or similar experience), and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee)
NETA, or NICET Certification or Electrician license preferred, but not required.
Prefer at least 3 or more years of relevant experience performing electrical testing & troubleshooting. Additional training can be provided by Shermco.
Familiarity with electrical one-lines preferred.
Must have computer skills including email, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; experience with PowerDB a plus.
Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
Prefer OSHA 10/30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70 E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training; training on each can be provided by Shermco.
Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally and be available for periodic overnight travel.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

Must be able to crawl, climb, stand, and lift up-to 100 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam.
Must have a valid driver's license, and currently have and be able to maintain a clean driving record.
Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.

Must be willing to travel; minimum 25%.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
