Pay Range

$79,700.00-$109,600.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

The Senior Purchaser maintains effective and efficient procurement and delivery of raw materials and/or pack and/or MRO materials for the manufacturing facility. The responsibilities of the position also entail coordinating, managing the materials, and maintaining inventory levels for the plant; managing ~50M in annual raw material, pack and MRO spend and managing all local service contracts and investigating the lowest cost and best delivery methods for maximum savings.

Your Day to Day:

  • Ensure uninterrupted and sustainable supply of raw materials to plant
  • Follow corporate global procurement practices and procedures.
  • Assist corporate supply chain in sourcing initiatives as requested
  • Manage plant inventory levels for raw material, packaging and MRO materials
  • Develop attacking cost projects and establish monthly scorecard metrics to be presented to JM leadership
  • Develop and implement materials strategies for the plant that allow for continuous operations of manufacturing
  • Act as liaison with Supply Chain Sourcing managers and JM business units by executing the following tasks:
    • Assist projects with multi-functional teams to qualify new suppliers
    • Identify alternate materials, cost-efficient processes and ways to reduce physical inventory
    • Eliminate obsolete equipment from plant and support initiatives for new product development
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of logistics/purchasing/planning in an industrial environment
  • Strong inventory management skills
  • Strong supplier negotiation skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of financial analysis
  • Fundamental experience managing supplier relationships
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract development
  • Fundamental knowledge of OSHA
  • Fundamental knowledge of ISO
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project and CMMS (computer maintenance management systems)
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) Preferred
  • Moderate travel required (5-12 days per year)
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds
  • Work environment is typical of an office setting at a manufacturing facility
