Scope of Position/Position Summary


The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Associate Director, Quality & Safety is responsible for advanced practice programs and processes related to clinical education, alignment with clinical practice guidelines, quality & safety initiatives, evidence-based practice, corporate credentialing best practices, and As the Associate Director, collaborating with frontline APP managers, leads, and medical staff supported by APPs, along with hospital and APP leadership, promotion of recruitment and retention of high caliber Advanced Practice Providers will be vital.




Position Summary


The APP Associate Director for Quality and Safety assumes responsibility for the oversight and outcomes for advanced practice by forecasting trends, setting strategic objectives, providing leadership and development for APPs. The Associate Director demonstrates advanced leadership and communication skills and the ability to manage and successfully mediate conflict, while upholding the organization's commitment to core values, productivity, and quality. Provides leadership and direction with a variety of programs and initiatives identified in the strategic plan associated with APP practice and patient care. The Associate Director supports evidence-based practice, education, research and theory. The role of the Associate Director is to ensure staff competence and continued professional advancement, patient safety, and achievement of patient care outcomes across the continuum.



The APP Associate Director is responsible for:



  • facilitate ongoing performance improvement in the utilization of APPs

  • develop and implement appropriate APP operating procedures,

  • maintain compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements,

  • sustain quality control methods to ensure high quality patient care is provided

  • engage with credentialing processes

  • maintain knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to APPs

  • continuously assess APP operations to identify opportunities for improvement

  • provide opportunities for APP manager/lead/educator development





Minimum Qualifications


For Hire - Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Ohio with national certification as an advanced practice provider with minimum of a master's degree with preference for doctoral degree OR Physician Assistant- Certified with a minimum of a Master of Physician Assistant Science and license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Ohio. Associate Director will obtain and maintain hospital credentials to practice at medical center.




Required: Three years of previous administrative leadership experience, including knowledge of APP practice required. Master's degree as an APP required, Doctorate preferred. Certification required. Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a positive, consistent and enthusiastic manner. Interacts cooperatively and collaboratively with diverse groups.
