BASIC FUNCTION:
The Associate Director is charged with building employer relationships, developing programming and coaching students in Integrated Sciences. Integrated Sciences is a new academic program rooted in CMC's foundational liberal arts and leadership mission, and unique in its approach to organizing science education around global societal and scientific challenges. The program consists of three areas of focus: (i) human health (genomics, systems biology, and health); (ii) the brain (brain, learning, and decision); and (iii) the planet (climate, energy, and the environment).
Core elements of the new Associate Director role include developing and maintaining relationships with external and on-campus constituencies, particularly employers, alumni and parents excited to work with our talented students, developing internship and full-time recruitment pipelines, and closely partnering with faculty and academic advisement in the Kravis Department of Integrated Sciences. This role reports to the Director of Student Opportunities at the Soll Center for Student Opportunity.
Charged with seeing the campus through the eyes of the student, the Soll Center for Student Opportunity assists students in exploring, cultivating and translating their skills, interests and talents into real-world opportunities. Partnering with the multiple constituencies that advise, mentor and guide our students, including faculty, staff, alumni and parents, the Center aims to empower students to formulate individual goals and strategies for achieving them through the use of resources, thoughtful exploration and early engagement in personal and professional development.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS & SKILLS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required.
EXPERIENCE: Five or more years of proven work experience with increasing responsibility in recruiting, career services, and/or external relations. Experience in the sciences is highly desirable.
LICENSES: A valid driver's license or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events is required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Individual must possess knowledge, skills, and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours will be required. Travel will be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or department. This is a 12-month position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: May supervise student employees.
SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range is $80,000 - $85,000 per year. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
GROOMING AND APPEARANCE: The Claremont Colleges seek to maintain a neat and professional image at all times. A uniform is required for certain events and will be provided.
BACKGROUND CHECK: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a full consumer background check. Certain positions will require the successful completion of a post-offer physical agility test.
