GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Medical Coding Product and Support Manager will be a key cross-functional member of the Product Development and Student Success teams. This is a unique position that allows for management of product, support, and student outcomes related to MedCerts Billing and Coding programs. While MedCerts is based in metro Detroit, Michigan - this position is 100% remote.
50% Support Focus: The Product and Support Manager proactively and reactively consults with students to answer questions, provide guidance and support, and ultimately to ensure they are equipped for certification success. They will ensure each program is adequately supported, and adequately prepares graduates for both certification success, and career/job readiness. They will evaluate student performance data and make recommendations for course enhancements to bridge knowledge gaps and increase student success.
The Medical Coding Product and Support Manager will be responsible for identifying thresholds and resources to help MedCerts students complete their programs and obtain certification (ex: MCBC, CPC-A, CCS-P, CBCS, etc.). Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate subject matter expertise and high-level proficiency in Medical Billing and Coding - with strong foundational knowledge of the Professional Coder role. They will serve as a subject-matter resource for student, team, or client inquiries related to all MedCerts Billing/Coding programs.
50% Product Focus: In this position, the Product and Support Manager will serve as an in-house Subject Matter Expert (SME) contributing to curriculum design, development, and enhancement of MedCerts courses related to Medical Billing and Coding. They will work directly with the MedCerts Product Development Team to optimize the delivery of developed training material and determine which of the "MedCerts 12 Elements of eLearning" will be leveraged to deliver course content in the most meaningful and appropriate way. With guidance from the Product Development Team, they will write the scripts and storyboards to be used in our Instructor-Led videos and voiceover elements used within the course. They will also prepare questions (with answers and rationale) for assessments throughout the course.
The Product and Support Manager will be listed as an Instructor in support of the program and will be required to maintain currently held credentials related to the field of Billing/Coding, as required by licensing and regulatory authorities.
The Product and Support Manager will help guide future programming, as well as have a hand in developing a product roadmap based on future opportunities in the field of Medical Billing and Coding, and other closely related fields.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work closely with others and independently to develop high-quality, engaging, and effective eLearning content to be used within MedCerts Medical Billing/Coding courses and programs.
* Analyze test plans, market data, jobs analysis, and other research, to establish or modify course and program learning objectives to align with the needs of the market, certification, employer, and students.
* On an annual basis, review code, standard, and industry changes and identify required updates/changes/modifications to relevant course content.
* Evaluate student performance data to pinpoint gaps in knowledge.
* Create supplemental learning resources to fill content gaps and address deficiencies in training materials.
* Work directly with students who need help with Professional Coding content and test preparation activities.
* Hold office hours and content review sessions with students on a weekly basis.
* Host internal training opportunities to ensure MedCerts Education Consultants and Student Support personnel can properly sell and support Billing/Coding certification programs.
* As needed, write, review, and edit scripts and assessment questions within pre-made templates and according to pre-determined writing styles and formats to align with one of the MedCerts 12 Elements of eLearning.
* As needed, serve as lead subject matter expert, collaborating with contracted SMEs for content creation, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and comprehensive coverage of medical coding topics.
* Map course content to certification exam objectives and domain outline.
* Assist in the research, documentation, assembly, and submission of materials required to obtain State programmatic approval.
* Participate in meetings with certification bodies to stay updated on standards and ensure curriculum alignment with industry standards.
* Serve as the primary liaison between MedCerts and certifying bodies related to Billing/Coding.
* Assist with the assembly and creation of regulatory documents and reporting, as required by various state and federal agencies, accrediting bodies, and state boards.
* Contribute to the ongoing recruitment and use of field advisory professionals who provide feedback on courses, markets, employer alignment, certifications, and other quality assurance initiatives.
* Create internal training opportunities to ensure MedCerts sales, partnerships, and support personnel can properly sell and support certification programs.
* Create summary documentation used to describe courses, programs, certification pathways, job roles and functions, and career opportunities for those in allied health and other fields for which MedCerts prepares students for entry.
* Closely monitor course/program outcomes and based on results, create a roadmap for course/program improvement.
* Review existing course offerings and provide recommendations and guidance for future development and/or certification target opportunities.
* Become intimately familiar with all MedCerts Billing/Coding content, curriculum, and programmatic details.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
* Must be certified (in good standing) as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through the AAPC, or a Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based (CCS-P) through AHIMA. Additional certifications/credentials beyond CPC/CCS-P are highly preferred, including CBCS (through the NHA).
* Must have teaching, instructional support, or curriculum develop experience related to the field of Coding.
* Must have superior verbal and written communication skills
* Must have knowledge of the industry, the various certification and regulatory agencies in the field, and a firm and detailed understanding of career pathways and related certification in the field of Medical Billing/Coding.
* Explicit accuracy and attention to detail in delivery of information. Must be 100% committed to Quality Assurance.
* High comfort level with the use of technology for communication and task completion
* Must have a passion for learning and be committed to obtaining new certifications and credentials.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a remote position in which work will be completed during normal business hours (approximately 8:30am - 5:00pm).
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
MedCerts, a Stride, Inc. company, considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
We anticipate the salary range to be between $55,000 and $60,000 plus bonus. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus.
