The SBA Business Development Officer Team Lead will be responsible for the profitability, growth, and strategy of the SBA Business Development Officer team, which will originate loans with the SBA program, maximize fee income and ROA through the sale of the guaranteed portion. The team consists of Business Development Officers dedicated to originating loans for the SBA Lending Team. The incumbent will respond to and resolve the most difficult credit issues and perform analysis of collateral, financial position, cash flow, performance guarantor and other risks as needed.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the sales life cycle, including lead generation and sourcing, loan policies and structure, product knowledge and financial analysis.

  • Call on and develop a referral network with commercial real estate brokers, business brokers, business/professional associations, accountants, lawyers, etc. to solicit SBA loan opportunities.

  • Responsible for structuring SBA loan proposals and preparing credit packages.

  • Responsible for the success and growth of the assigned sales territory.

  • Portfolio retention and acceptable loan performance for loans originated by leader or BDO team.



Minimum Qualifications:


  • Must have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Commercial Lending.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Government Guaranteed Lending.

  • Knowledge of SBA standard operating procedure is required.

  • Must possess superior customer service, sales, and business development skills.

  • Must have strong knowledge of commercial and consumer loan and deposit products.

  • Must have the ability to travel to WSFS Bank's various locations throughout our footprint.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent listening ability and presentation skills.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must have an intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office.
