The Fleet Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing the data associated with the company's vehicle fleet to optimize operations, control costs, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role involves developing insights into fleet performance, identifying trends, and recommending data-driven solutions to improve efficiency, reduce expenses, and enhance vehicle utilization. The Fleet Analyst collaborates with internal teams, such as operations, procurement, and logistics, and supports the overall strategic objectives of the fleet management department.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Performance Analysis:
Collect, analyze, and interpret fleet data to monitor vehicle utilization, efficiency, maintenance costs, fuel consumption, and downtime.
Identify patterns and trends to provide actionable insights and recommend improvements to fleet operations.
Cost Control and Optimization:
Analyze fleet-related expenditures to identify areas for cost savings.
Develop strategies for reducing fuel costs, maintenance expenses, and other fleet-related operational costs.
Reporting and Dashboards:
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fleet performance.
Present data findings and recommendations to management on a regular basis.
Fleet Maintenance and Lifecycle Management:
Track maintenance schedules and ensure vehicles are serviced on time to minimize downtime.
Assist in planning vehicle replacement schedules based on lifecycle analysis and utilization rates.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all fleet operations comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintain accurate records for vehicle inspections, licensing, and insurance.
Vendor and Contract Management:
Support vendor selection and management for vehicle leasing, fuel, and maintenance services.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Technology Utilization:
Leverage fleet management software and telematics systems to gather data and improve decision-making processes.
Ensure optimal use of fleet-related technology to streamline operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Statistics, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in fleet management, data analysis, or a related field.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
Experience with fleet management and telematics systems (e.g. Samsara) is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
