Job Description:

Vertiv, a global leader in technology infrastructure solutions, is seeking an experienced Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. This role will be key in overseeing and managing project cost control activities across a variety of projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project goals. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in cost management, ideally within the mechanical or electrical industries, and a strong background working with large-scale contractors or suppliers.

As a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor at Vertiv, you will be responsible for providing critical financial oversight and ensuring that cost management practices support the successful delivery of projects. Strong proficiency in cost estimation tools, advanced spreadsheet skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams are essential for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities


  • Cost Control & Monitoring: Track and manage Change Order Requests (CORs) and Subcontractor Change Orders, ensuring that pricing aligns with project schedules and remains within budget.

  • Claims Management: Provide key support in the preparation, submission, and resolution of construction claims.

  • Contractual & Legal Support: Advise project and technical teams on potential legal and contractual risks, providing guidance on how to manage opportunities and mitigate issues across multiple projects.

  • Subcontractor & Supplier Management: Oversee subcontractor and supplier accounts to ensure cost-effective performance and maintain value for money throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Change Management: Lead and attend change management meetings, update relevant documentation and ensure that all changes are accurately tracked and reflected in financial reports.

  • Financial Tracking & Reporting: Regularly update financial tracking tools, verify the accuracy of cost dashboards, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with project goals.

  • Project Support: Assist project delivery teams in ensuring that all contractual entitlements are submitted, tracked, and recovered efficiently.

Qualifications


  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, or related fields, preferably in large-scale mechanical or electrical projects.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Smartsheet and Power BI is a plus. Advanced knowledge of cost estimation software and financial reporting tools.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Proven experience in analyzing data and driving improvements in financial reporting, working closely with Finance and IT systems to enhance cost visibility and project tracking.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations and create visual summaries of complex data.

  • Global Experience: Comfortable working in a global, multi-cultural environment with occasional domestic or international travel required.

  • Autonomous Work Style: Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while collaborating effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
