Job Description:

Executive Communications Manager, CEO Communications

Responsibilities

In this role, you will report to the Director of CEO Communications in support of the Office of the CEO, primarily helping execute a strategic CEO communications program, including driving core narrative, messaging, and thought leadership platforms through speaking opportunities and other internal and external stakeholder content and programing.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to!):



  • Content development: Co-lead the execution of the end-to-end CEO communications and thought leadership plan, including identifying, securing, and preparing opportunities, as well as partnering cross functionally to write and edit compelling and persuasive communications such as scripts, talking points, blog posts, email messages, and briefing documents.


  • Social media: Develop and co-lead the execution of a social media strategy for the CEO to promote HPE's business, reputation, and culture, capitalizing on real-time opportunities for news and stakeholder engagement through development of content, facilitation of approvals, and monitoring of activity and metrics.


  • Project management: Manage projects from conception to completion, utilizing advanced organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and simultaneous deadlines, as well as consistently improve, manage, and efficiently scale infrastructure in support of the CEO communications program, including processes, templates, and tools.


  • Cross-functional collaboration: Represent the interests of the CEO in all forums, aligning with external stakeholders, as well as with Marketing & Communications colleagues on strategic priorities to drive a cohesive narrative across the enterprise.

About you


  • Proven communications background (working directly with clients and senior leaders, developing executive-level communications, building trust and influencing cross-functional teams, etc.).

  • Superior writing and editing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into a clear point of view with concise language for varied audiences.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

  • A willingness to lead on both major and minor points of implementation, keen attention to detail, and flexibility to pivot to meet evolving business and communication program needs.

  • An interest in developing within a high-performing team, a curious nature, comfort asking questions, and an intrinsic motivation to self-initiate action in highly ambiguous environments.

Qualifications


  • BA or BS in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in media relations, journalism, or related communication roles.

  • Corporate and large agency experience is highly preferred.

  • Executive communications experience - including social media - supporting top executive leadership and/or the c-suite, with a global technology leader is highly preferred.

  • Active listener, collaborative, diplomatic, and consultative.

  • A sense of humor.

  • Ideally based in the greater Houston, Texas area or willing to travel to Houston as needed

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S. -based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $101,900.00 - $234,500.00
