Senior Accounting Travel Specialist OKC - Hybrid at University of Oklahoma

Job Description:



This position is responsible for general coordination of the Travel (Concur) program. Work requires knowledge of program policies, procedures, and systems to communicate and process information. Skills necessary to complete the role include organization, ability to jump between multiple tasks, and strong communication to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form. This job requires secure handling of sensitive and/or confidential information as well as contact and coordination with other departments and university officials.


Duties:



  • Extensive communication with departments for travel information and details

  • Strong customer services skills including regular phone and email communication

  • Audit and approve expense reports in Concur for compliance with Federal , State and University policies.

  • Assists with modifications to existing accounting systems or in the formulation of new systems.

  • Provides guidance and instruction and assists in determining work priorities.

  • Ensures financial transactions are correctly recorded in journals, spreadsheets and databases.

  • Monitors accounts, gathering statistical data, and maintaining reports and records.

  • Gathers and disseminates a wide variety of information about policies and procedures.

  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of standardized orders, receipts, and payments.

  • Coordinates accounting or recordkeeping activities with various departments.

  • Maintains records and fi les used in connection with accounting work.

  • Assists supervisor in making sound financial decisions by providing current and accurate financial records upon request and related pertinent information.

  • Performs various duties as needed in order to successfully fulfill the function of the position.


This position is available for Hybrid in-office/Remote work from Oklahoma for experienced candidates.

Required Education: High School diploma or GED AND:



  • 36 months experience in accounting & bookkeeping


Skills:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Effective communicator, both oral and written

  • Proactive and able to move between task quickly

  • Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines

  • Basic math skills

  • Customer Service skills.

  • Knowledge of standard accounting principles and processes.
