Performs maintenance duties as assigned in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery used in the operation of Myers Industries production facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities

Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties involved in the inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and servicing of shop equipment, components, facilities and machinery associated with the production, packaging, material handling, storage, and distribution of Myers Industries products, such as pipes, tubes, rods, seals, shafts, stuffing boxes, gears, motors, bearings, couplings, chemical and/or plastics production, chemical and resin storage and feed systems, flow stations, conveying systems, valves and pumps; tests and monitors equipment and machinery for vibration, bearing temperature and output capacity.
Repairs and maintains air compressor systems, water treatment, water cooling/chilling systems, mixers/grinders, and hydraulic systems.
Installs, maintains, and repairs equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, vacuum pumps, mechanical systems, conveyance systems and related equipment and apparatus used in the production, packaging, material handling, storage, and distribution of Myers products
Maintains production facilities, equipment, and machinery by using manual, electronic and computer control systems
Maintains and services air compressors; maintains, installs, pulls, services, and aligns all electric motors.
Operates shop and facility bridge cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, steam cleaners, pneumatic, hydraulic and electric tools, shop machinery and related tools and equipment.
Operations mobile truck hydraulic (telescopic) cranes up to 17.5 tons; utilizes lifting/load handling devices (e.g., slings, cable, and spreader bars).
Installs, replaces, and repairs chemical and/or resin storage, feed and distribution system components such as storage tanks, generators, analyzers, evaporators, distribution lines and valves, and various chemical or material feed pumps.
Responds to leaks in chemical or material feed systems, hydraulic systems, cooling systems, pneumatic systems, and makes repairs to storage tanks and feeders; supplies emergency generators for power outages; supplies portable pump stations and fab piping.
Maintains, repairs, and services valves and surge tanks at reservoirs, pumping and flow stations; install and/or replace large water meters and backflows.
Ensures timely and accurate completion of preventative maintenance activities, utilizing computerized maintenance management programs; maintains detailed record keeping in support of computerized maintenance management system.
Requisitions necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.
Researches new operational methods, techniques and equipment and recommends their application.
Plans and lays out jobs from blueprints, drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions; maintains records in the form of blueprints, plans and specifications for industrial and waterworks equipment and machinery; makes suggestions for system design and operational improvements.
Designs and fabricates a variety of brackets, supports and other metal structures using fabricating equipment, fabricate and install exhaust piping, mufflers, catalytic converters, heat exchangers and associated piping for industrial engines and generators.
Rebuilds existing equipment within the production facility.
Under close supervision, fabricates and installs piping for new pump installations which may include plumbing, pipe fitting and machine tool operations.
Responds to emergency situations as necessary, extended duties may include confined space entries utilizing departmental safety equipment, policies, and procedures.
Uses lock-out/tag-out procedures to block electrical and other energy sources and operations equipment at panel for maintenance purposes.
Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties involved in the inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair and servicing of production equipment, components, facilities and machinery.
Tests, troubleshoots, calibrates, and performs preventative maintenance on a variety of complex electronic instruments and equipment.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
3-5 Maintenance Experience Required
Working Conditions
Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment that may have high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease. Ability to work in an environment that may be either hot, cold or humid.
