Material Handler/Forklift Optr.

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTING TO: Shift Supervisor

SUMMARY: Monitors and distributes raw materials for the production floor in order to help maintain an efficient work flow while making accurate inventory transactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Uses material moving equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and dollies to move products and labels to and from the production floor.


• Requests raw material from Shipping & Receiving Personnel .


• Ensures delivery of materials to production is timely in order to prevent unplanned Downtime.


• Responsible for shredding, pelletizing, tagging and managing flash and contaminated material .

• Performs audits in order to ensure accurate inventory levels of raw material .


• Assists with production as needed .


• Maintains a clean and organized working environment .

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required


• Forklift certification from Scepter will be required


• Minimum of one year forklift experience preferred


• Lock Out/Tag Out certification required


• Strong reading, mathematical, and communication skills required

• Ability to use scan guns and /or other required warehouse management systems (WMS)


• Computer literacy, Microsoft Office products preferred

Work conditions consistent with a manufacturing environment. Frequent exposure to manufacturing operations requires the ability to use all necessary safety equipment. Standing, walking, stooping, and bending are frequent and required. Must be able to tolerate repetitive motions for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 5 0 pounds. Ability to stand for at least 8 hours on concrete surface is required. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures.
