The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality of the product produced. The Quality Technician provides guidance to oven and secondary operators regarding quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect product.
Verify rework completed per standards.
Interpret and apply visual standards to product.
Test product
Quarantine non-conforming product
Verify inspection paperwork.
Process returned product.
Complete paperwork and compile reports
Participate in root cause corrective action analysis.
Update Syspro
Operate tools in a safe manner.
Maintain excellent attendance.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate effectively with co-workers, leadership, and other departments.
Train production workers as needed.
Assist Quality Engineers and Quality Manager with PPAP
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledgeable with and/or able to learn key areas of responsibility.
Ability to train employees to perform job requirements.
Must be able to handle different situations that will arise including emergency situations.
Must be tactful in dealing with different personality types.
Forklift certified by Elkhart Plastics/Myers certified trainer.
CPR certified if required.
Possess adequate computer skills.
Good communication and organization skills
Ability to read and write proficiently.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 2 years production experience
High school diploma
Working Conditions
Able to work in a hot, humid environment for extended periods of time. This job is in a typical manufacturing environment, to include:
Ovens, torches, and rotating tools
Forklifts and other moving machinery
Loud work environment
