Job Description:

Ameriprise Financial has an exciting new opportunity for an Associate Product Owner to join our team! This role will support cross-functional agile digital product teams with a focus on day-to-day execution and delivering on key product priorities. You will understand our users and work with product leads to maintain key information on user personas, user journeys, product metrics and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



  • Overall: Support execution of product strategy and delivery for one or more Agile Scrum teams. Partner with Sr Product Owner, UX Design Lead and Software Engineering Lead to assist in defining roadmap, backlog and sprint plans. Author user stories and provide context for product vision, strategy and requirements.


  • Webmaster: Support Ameriprise.com and public microsites as a webmaster within our Content Management System; works closely with content to publish and maintain content across our sites.


  • Scrum Ceremony Management: Own the facilitation of scrum ceremonies


  • Documentation: manages and maintains strategic documentation for multiple product teams in support of product leads.


  • Backlog Refinement: Work alongside product leads to update and maintain our various backlogs.


  • Monthly Review Support: Help product leads populate updates for monthly product roadmap/performance reviews.


  • Performance Tracking Support: Work closely with analytics team to regularly pull KPIs for product leads for review/analysis.


  • Meeting Notes and Next Steps: Support product leads by summarizing key notes from meetings and sharing next steps with participants.


Required Qualifications


  • Strong business analysis and project management skills, with close attention to detail.

  • Hands on experience as product manager of software-based solutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to clearly articulate concepts and rationale.

  • Must possess a solid understanding of digital technologies and best practices.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • 1-3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Strong communication skills to engage team, facilitate discussion, mentor team members and resolve conflict.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and business teams.
