POSITION SUMMARY:
Aleut Federal, LLC is hiring a qualified individual with experience and qualifications to serve as a Senior Quality Control Manager. This role involves daily onsite oversight, management, and supervision of construction activities, subcontractors, quality, and safety. The individual will ensure projects are completed per contract documents within the specified timeline and budget.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidates should have an in-depth understanding of various construction projects, particularly facility sustainment, renovation, and modernization (SRM) type projects. A minimum of 7 years of experience managing construction projects and 3 years of recent experience in a similar role is required.
KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING:
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods and practices.
- Proficient in reading prints, plans, schedules, and inspection documents.
- Experience on projects for federal agencies is essential.
- Strong familiarity with and implementation of USACE EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards (1910/1926).
- Understanding of USACE Construction Quality Management processes and procedures.
- Required Certifications: USACE CQM and OSHA 30.
- Preferred Certifications: PMP, DBIA, CCM, AIC, Procore.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement quality control requirements and procedures utilizing the USACE 30-phases of Construction. Identify and halt non-conforming work and ensure timely corrective action.
- Ensure all contract requirements for inspections, acceptance, commissioning, record documents, and training are fulfilled.
- Additional responsibilities include:
- Proactively minimize project risks.
- Manage and supervise assigned staff, performing interim and annual reviews.
- Oversee multiple projects in different construction phases.
- Collaborate with various departments and business units as needed.
- Carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
MENTAL AND COGNITIVE DEMANDS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
- Document issues and resolutions effectively.
- Solve complex problems.
- Basic computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid state driver's license.
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Pass project-required background checks.
- Availability for standby assignments, off-hours, and emergency work.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for projects.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Effective verbal communication and the ability to hear and understand others.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and traverse uneven terrain.
- Perform repetitive movements with hands and arms.
- Capability to lift to 30 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily, the field-based position is on construction sites, both indoors and outdoors.
- Moderate to heavy noise levels anticipated.
- Sites may involve navigating obstacles and uneven terrain.
- Exposure to construction hazards, extreme weather conditions, and loud noises when not in the field.
