Position Summary — The Drop Team Member is responsible for assisting drop team members in removing all cash boxes from casino gaming machines, tables, and ATMS; replacing old cash boxes with new cash boxes, and securing all cash boxes.

Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation.


  • Safely and securely collect currency from various points within the casino, including slot machines, table games, ATMs, and other designated areas.

  • Removes all cash boxes from gaming machines, tables, and ATM’s from the previous gaming day and replaces them with empty cash boxes, places used cash boxes onto the box cart in established order.

  • Ensure the security of machine keys at all times.

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Drop team to streamline processes and maximize efficiency.

  • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth coordination and completion of tasks.

  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to financial transactions and security protocols. Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.

Drop Team Members may be required to perform Count Team Member duties as the need arises. These duties include:


  • Perform safe and efficient handling and movement of casino currency.

  • Utilize counting machines and manual counting techniques to accurately tally currency, chips, and other monetary items.

  • Verify counts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial transactions.

  • Record counts and discrepancies in accordance with established procedures. Generate reports detailing count results, discrepancies, and any irregularities observed during the process. 

  • Processes cash count from the previous gaming day; sorts, counts, and records contents of bill validator boxes; Straps and bundles currency while preparing funds with proper documentation for transfer of funds to Vault.

Acquires an acceptable knowledge of computer and software programs used by the department.

Qualifications 


  • High school diploma or G.E.D., cash handling experience, and excellent mathematical and clerical aptitude required.

  • One (1) year count room experience and proficiency with computers and currency counters preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Ability to multitask and work as part of the team and to promote a cooperative approach between departments.

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to adapt.

Must be able to acquire and maintain extensive knowledge of TICS and applicable gaming regulations.

Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements — Position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, twist, pull/push over 50 pounds, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly. Must have good dexterity and grip, be able to work quickly and move fast, and have good hand-eye coordination.

Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and confined spaces, and bright flashing lights.

Special Working Conditions — Position requires flexibility to work any shift including weekends and holidays.

Compensation — Due to the nature of the Drop and Count Team, compensation is awarded as follows:  


  • Drop Team Members are paid for 6.5 hours for each qualifying day worked.  


  • Count Team Members are paid for 8 hours for each qualifying day worked.  


  • In the event a Drop or Count team member is tasked with performing both Drop and Count duties for a day, they will be compensated for 10 hours.  


  • Drop and Count Lead and Supervisor are paid for 8 hours for each qualifying day worked.  

 - A qualifying day is a day worked in which the staff member is on-time for their shift (with a 7-minute grace window) and completes all required duties.  

- Any time missed that does not exceed one hour for that day, due to tardiness or leaving early, will be deducted from the hourly compensation for that day.  

- If more than one hour of schedule time is missed, the staff member will only be compensated for actual hours worked for that day.  

- If a team member is required to come in on their day off for a meeting or a non-scheduled drop, they will be paid for actual hours worked at their regular rate of pay.  

-Overtime compensation will only apply to hours physically worked that exceed 40 hours in a given workweek.
