Job Description:

Manages and reconciles Dean's Office state accounts. Responsible for purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, transfers, budget revisions, and entering travel claims. Some financial report preparation. Enters ePAFs. Monitors the annual budget for college. Works closely with Directors of each school to assist with budget monitoring and training. Serves as liaison with schools and university offices. 


Duties:



  • Provides management, administration and or analysis and evaluation of financial activities within a college or complex university department

  • Manage and Reconcile Dean's State Accounts

  • Develop and monitor the annual budget for the college

  • Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures

  • Advise regarding audit responses

  • Design and oversee the preparation of reports requiring the consolidation of a large volume of highly complex accounting and financial data into formats suitable for presentation

  • Prepare Purchasing, transfers, bid requests, budget revisions, etc

  • Develop, implement and maintain financial and budget systems to ensure proper allocation of expenditures and compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Supervise a major complex segment of the University's financial operation

  • Train staff and directors on financial systems/budget

  • Serve as liaison with schools and university offices

  • Provides leadership and coordination to various technical personnel engaged in specified project activities, as appropriate.

  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field, AND:



  • 36 months experience in financial/accounting position to include analysis, auditing and budgeting


Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months experience in lieu of BS Degree for a total of 84 months experience.

  • Communicate effectively

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

  • Ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and staff

  • Ability to produce reports and complete work within deadlines

  • Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner


Supervision: 1-5 Staff

  • Physical stress or discomfort includes, but is not limited to, stooping, standing, bending, climbing or sitting.

  • Standard Office Environment


Departmental Preferences:



  • Experience with OU systems - PeopleSoft, Taleo, and Concur

  • Experience with OU accounting
