The inside sales position develops, maintains, and interacts with customers primarily through the use of phone, other forms of electronic communication, and/or applicable enterprise resource planning (erp) system. Utilizes best business practices to increase sales by quickly responding to customer requests for quotes with clear and concise bids. Follows up to close opportunities through close customer interaction. Works in concert with other sci departments to support internal/external customer needs and contract requirements. Entrusted with expanding business development by showcasing the benefits of featured product lines and available services to new and existing customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Creates, enters, and/or manages quotes, sales orders, and/or purchase orders.
• Utilizes the ERP system and its report functions to manage the entire sales cycle.
• Collaborates with the inside sales manager to formulate strategic and tactical plans on major opportunities.
• Meets or exceeds monthly and annual sales targets; utilizing various reports to track progress/status.
• Generates leads and manages opportunities; utilizing sales strategies to convert opportunities to sales.
• Builds, manages, and advances strong business relationships with new and existing customers.
• Investigates and resolves customer issues/concerns; initiates steps to mitigate/stop future occurrences.

Education / Training requirements

• AS (BS degree preferred) in a business or technical field or equivalent experience in related field
• 3+ years of overall business experience
• Working knowledge of supply chain management

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes weighing up to 40lbs
• Bending/squatting/kneeling/stooping/crouching/crawling/twisting up and walking up to 8-10 hours per day
• Standing- must be able to stand or sit in one place up to 8-10 hours per day.
