The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. Essentially, the goal of a maintenance technician is to maintain the facilities and common areas in the best possible condition. Maintenance technicians can work in a variety of settings including plant, warehouse, and office areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures Use appropriate PPE for work operations.
Willingness to work overtime.
Understanding of automation equipment (i.e. sensors, switches, valves)
Managing inventory related to automated area
Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work
Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety regulations
Conduct maintenance of electrical systems
Help maintain facility budgets ensuring competitive pricing and purchasing quality products.
Maintain air and plumbing systems to ensure functionality within the plant and automation area.
Inspect alarm systems and fire protection and quickly schedule repairs when needed
Ability to work independently
Coordinate with outside contractors as needed to complete certain repairs
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma and 3 – 5 years of work-related experience
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
Demonstrate experience as a maintenance technician
Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds
Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts and small hand tools
Cleaning and maintaining common shop areas
Communicate repair issues to affected employees
Disposing of trash and machine shavings from plant area
Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
