Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and project safety in conjunction with supervisory personnel. Design, modify, and coordinate safety programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent injury and disease. Enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals and comply with corporate safety program standards. Collaborate and interface with operations on a daily basis to reach company objectives.
Responsibilities:
Prevent hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and contacting supervisory personnel.
Examine job sites, departments, and branches to assess and determine where safety improvements are needed.
Positively impact company performance by focusing on first line supervisors.
Facilitate hazard recognition and solutions.
Respond, as a resource of information, to supervisors' questions and issues regarding safety.
Develop ideas as to the source of unsafe behaviors and working environments.Recommend measures to ensure maximum employee protection.
Order necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
Train supervisors and field personnel on required and supplemental safety topics.Identify additional training warranted through needs assessments.
Lead and coordinate Pieper's safety talk program to maximize effectiveness in terms of employee response, topic relevance, and impact on the workforce.
Lead customer safety training to support the company's customer relationships and reduce Branch 97 overhead.
Ensure that all laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals are followed.Provide communication to supervisors to allow for this abidance.
Review documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted per requirements and established procedures. Implement appropriate corrective action as needed.
Contribute to the branch's responsibility of producing future leadership talent by way of hiring and developing a Management Trainee(s) for PPC.Provide a development plan, monitor, coach, and provide feedback and growth opportunities to direct report.
Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.
Identify safety hazards and the methods to eliminate them, by daily nurturing of the skills of all subordinates.
Ensure leadership in all job-site meetings, formal and informal, will begin with safety.
Authorized OSHA Outreach instructor for 10 and 30hr classes.
Utilize, show proficiency in and teach others in the 22 OSHA skill sets.
Practice safety hazard identification and elimination in personal life.
