Job Description:
This position is an OCIO Application Developer position for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Information Services and Technology (IS&T) Facilities Applications Support Team. This team provides development and support for the Electronic Health Record Application and the Laboratory Information Management System Applications utilized by the state 24 Hour Facilities and the State Lab.
This position will design, develop, configure, code, document, implement and maintain the solutions using the built-in functions, Crystal Reporting and Tableau reporting tools.
Hours: Flexible work schedules between office hours 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
Job location: State Office Building 301 Centennial Mall
Job duties
Works with clients and Senior Developers to understand business needs.
Develop and test reports or forms in the various applications that the client uses as part of their daily responsibilities.
Gather, review and document requirements for systems analysis and design.
Assists with evaluating business processes needed for development working with the Business
Analyst to develop support material that can be used by the customers as a help document or as training material.
Develops technical documentation that entails and represents the programming aspect of a change that will be developed or has been developed.
Tests and troubleshoots application changes that are introduced by the vendors for the various products the team supports.
Provides ongoing support to the customers when they report an issue that requires someone with application knowledge.
Each application has proprietary tools and utilities, the candidate will need to become familiar with the application tools to complete most of the development.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications.
Preferred: Associates degree in computer programming or similar area. Experience or Knowledge of Agile Software Processes. Experience using Report Writing tools such as Crystal Reporting and similar software products. Understanding of SQL and other similar Programming languages. Some background or experience with developing visualizations and dashboards in Tableau. Experience with Jira and familiarization with Access; Access historically was used for building queries and one time report databases.
Other: Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Skill in; writing computer programs for various programs; effective communications; active learning-working with new material or information to grasp its implications; reading comprehension; good writing skills.

Put information in order; organize different pieces of information into a meaningful pattern,

Modify and upgrade code as necessary.
