Description of Work:

The School of Global Integrative Studies (SGIS) Anthropology division invites applications for a Forensic Anthropologist with a specialty in Data Analytics to be appointed as a tenure-track assistant professor beginning in August 2025. The successful candidate will develop an outstanding research program that results in peer- reviewed publications and external funding appropriate to the subdiscipline and the training of graduate and undergraduate researchers. They will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to program, college, and university affairs to an extent appropriate to their rank.


We seek applicants who are theoretically grounded and empirically engaged in forensic anthropology with a specialty in data analysis, data visualization, and advanced statistical techniques. In the area of teaching, we seek a colleague prepared to play an active role in expanding forensic-related curricular offerings and who can teach courses ranging from introductory undergraduate to graduate levels. Candidates whose qualifications bridge into this specialty area are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • Ph.D. in Anthropology at the time of appointment.

  • A research focus within the field of forensic anthropology with a focus on data analysis, data visualization, and advanced statistical techniques.

  • Evidence of excellence in university-level teaching.

  • Certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology or have a record that would make them eligible for board certification.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching, engagement in scholarly work, and experience in research mentoring of graduate and undergraduate researchers.

  • Demonstrated experience with inclusive pedagogical practices and evidence in teaching and mentoring a diverse population of students.

  • Potential to establish an externally funded program associated with publication in quality peer-reviewed journals.

  • Diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Anthropology.
