Your Role: Technical Manufacturing Scientist
In this role, you will drive process improvement, troubleshooting, and capability/control initiatives, collaborating effectively across organizational levels and functions. You will be responsible for running and coordinating activities related to the Technical Services/Manufacturing Science (TS/MS) laboratory and associated tasks, contributing to departmental and company goals. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and collaborative engagement in setting and achieving yearly objectives.
Your Responsibilities:
Proactively identify and prioritize strategies to reduce or mitigate negative impacts on key site success factors, such as production efficiency, product quality, and regulatory compliance. This includes performing risk assessments, analyzing data trends, and developing action plans.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis investigations for critical process deviations, utilizing appropriate methodologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to prevent recurrence. This involves documenting findings, implementing corrective actions, and verifying effectiveness.
Provide technical liaison and support to local and network Quality Control (QC), Analytical Science and Technology (AS&T), and Elanco R&D. Support activities include assay performance troubleshooting, method improvement, development and technical transfer of new vaccines, and site-to-site transfer of existing vaccines.
Develop and implement both short- and long-term strategies to improve existing manufacturing processes, collaborating closely with TS/MS scientists to implement necessary corrections and maintain processes in a capable state. This encompasses process optimization, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain compliance with the current Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory regulations while suggesting and implementing changes/improvements to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturing batch records, and other controlled documentation. This requires utilizing the Change Control process and providing appropriate justifications for changes.
Identify critical process parameters, conducting trend analysis, performing statistical analysis to support proposed solutions, conducting process capability analysis, and collaborating with Regulatory Affairs to justify changes in Special Outlines and Outlines of Production.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Sciences, or another related field.
Ability to work in a team environment and manage projects within an agreed time schedule.
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
