Job Description:
HunaTek is seeking a Project Analyst to support our contract with the Department of State in Washington, DC. In this position, the Project Analyst will assist staff in the implementation and/or execution of program or project tasks. Research and investigate new or improved business and or management practices, processes, policies, and methods. Provide administrative advice, assistance, and recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in functional areas. Determine various ways of resolving issues and presents options to management via written reports and/or oral briefings.
Essential Functions
Collect and manage data in Excel spreadsheets to support the team in the development and review of the Bureau's top policy priorities on a global and regional basis and associated resource allocations.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of data and research to support strategic planning processes.
Prepare research and analytic papers for leadership on specific countries or regional issues to inform policy planning and resource decisions.
Provide research and technical support for implementation of analytic frameworks to track the Bureau's progress in using diplomatic engagement and foreign assistance to advance strategic goals and objectives with priority countries and cross-cutting initiatives.
Develop and draft results frameworks that illustrate the Bureau's strategic goals, objectives, and major programs for specific countries and regions.
Assist in preparation of Annual Reports and other materials that explain the Bureau's impact to key stakeholders.
Assist in preparation and dissemination of other department products designed to improve communication across the Bureau and with other stakeholders
Assist in preparation and development of concept notes, agendas, and logistics for Bureau initiatives and related events
Skills and Qualifications Required
Experience developing and applying new analytic methodologies and tools to monitor and evaluate programs.
Experience with conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis related to foreign affairs and/or foreign assistance.
Knowledge of terrorism and violent extremism, as well as U.S. government counterterrorism policies and programs.
Strong writing, briefing, and critical thinking skills. A writing sample may be requested.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Bachelor's degree in a related area.
A Top Secret clearance is required.
