The Continuous Improvement/Facilities Engineer will have a dual role. In the CI role this individual will assist in the continuous improvement (CI) processes encompassing the manufacturing and support areas. This position serves as a resource for internal and, when required, external customers by providing CI knowledge, expertise and training to all areas of Company operations. Using CI and project management methodologies, this role will plan and oversee resources, define scope, goal and deliverables, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. This position will also be responsible for facility engineering project management. It will include oversight of projects, including development of purpose, cost savings, project costs, schedules, approval process, and construction process. The focus of this portion of the job will encompass the entire facility, including building, equipment, systems, and grounds. This position will provide dotted-line support and input to the Director of Continuous Improvement.

Assists in Continuous Improvement (CI) process including implementation of Lean Six Sigma, CI Roadmaps and implementation of best practices.
Plan and implement assigned projects within budget and allotted timeline.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Utilize Lean/5S and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes.
Collect and analyze data to measure effectiveness of improvements.
Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.
Provide training and support to teams on continuous improvement techniques.
Assists in tracking annual project savings, as well as other key department KPIs.
Provides expertise or training in problem solving to specific issues that may include – statistical analysis, process visualization, root cause analysis or other CI/DMAIC tools.
Provides support in tracking the status of CI projects through completion.
Identifies key process metrics and works with Operations to design and implement visual management tracking and standard work.
Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
Analyzes equipment, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
Collaborates with the operations to identify and troubleshoot problems.
Overseeing project schedules and budgets, especially for facility and equipment upgrades and renovations.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
3 to 5 years of experience in continuous improvement or process improvement roles.
Proficiency in managing project schedules and budgets, especially for facility upgrades and renovations.
Experience overseeing facility electrical and mechanical systems.
Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with process mapping and value stream mapping.
Experience with Kaizen, Lean 5S, and ERP systems; LSS Green or Black Belt highly desired.
Familiarity with quality control and production processes.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Periodically lift, carry, push, pull, climb, and otherwise move objects.
