Position Summary:

The Division of Hematology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking candidates with a clinical interest in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or Richter's transformation to join the faculty in the Department of Medicine. Candidates should have a specific interest in conducting and leading clinical and/or translational research studies in patients with CLL or Richter's transformation. Rank and track will be commensurate with experience.
Job responsibilities may include the following:
Research or scholarship: There will be an expectation of high-quality clinical and/or translational research for patients with CLL that will lead to scholarship.
Clinical: The candidate will provide specialized care for patients with CLL or Richter's transformation in an outpatient setting and serve as an attending physician on the inpatient malignant hematology service at the North Carolina Basnight Cancer Hospital at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Teaching and mentorship: There will be an expectation of teaching and mentoring for hematology/oncology fellows, residents, and medical students.
As this is an open rank posting, academic rank and track will be determined by the candidate's experience and achievements. This position can be fixed term, tenure track or variable track.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

MD, DO, MBBS or equivalent degree. Applicant should be Board eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology.


Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Ideal candidates will have significant experience in malignant hematology specifically CLL, and a strong interest and background in clinical or translational research. The ideal candidate will possess or be enrolled in a Masters in Clinical Research (or equivalent) degree program.
